Gullele Botanical Gardens
THE PROJECT IN SUMMARY
Winner of an international competition for the construction of the Gullele Botanical Garden, JNC International carried out the programming study, the botanical study, and the 60 Ha landscaping of the heart of the Gullele environmental park.
The park reproduces the Ethiopian ethnobotanical landscape to form a miniature representation of the diverse landscapes and habitats of Ethiopia.
Composed of different areas including a walking park, thematic gardens, scientific research gardens, and natural preserved areas, the park is surrounded by a new ring road and two parking areas. Infrastructures such as the reception center, scientific and educational infrastructures, or the headquarters of the regional environmental center of the ‘Corne d’Afrique’ are also planned.
Located in a delicate environment, the botanical park is surrounded by a buffer zone to avoid untimely urbanization. JNC International has also relied on its expertise in the field of water management to design an accurate and reasoned stormwater management system.
