PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Witnesses of Belgium's rich steelmaking past, the Clabecq forges have been slowly declining since the 1970s.The classification of the site as a disused economic activity zone and the dismantling of the main industrial infrastructures that begun in the 2000s are also a sign of renewal for the entire region. 

The redevelopment of the former iron and steel site is an opportunity for the city of Tubize to reconnect with the canal that borders it, to develop a new housing offer, to create jobs and a center with a cultural vocation. 

The project developed by our office is in line with this future perspective but also with a sustainable development approach. Mobility, a mix of functions, quality public and landscaped spaces, energy performance... are at the heart of our thinking for a project resolutely focused on the future.
