Contrat de Rénovation Urbaine 05
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Brussels, historically located in the Senne valley, experienced strong development at the time of its industrialization. This multifaceted heritage has strongly marked the territory of the Urban Renovation (CRU- Contrat de Rénovation Urbaine) no.5 Heyvaert-Poincaré.
The CRU tool was implemented in the Brussels Capital Region to complement the Sustainable Neighborhood Contract (CQD) tool. It enables the CRU to intervene in inter-municipal territories and to respond to metropolitan challenges.
Between the canal and the inner ring, the districts of this CRU are bordered by rapidly developing metropolitan polarities. The ambition of this operational study is initially to overcome the territorial ruptures, then to create connections between metropolitan polarities, stimulate projects that are struggling to emerge and finally to animate a territory undergoing rapid change.
